Aviation SM-4.5 oil (TU 0253-007-39247202-96) is a mixture of the aviation oils, MS-8P and MS-20 in the ratio 75:25 (Mas. % share). This aviation oil is an aviation lubricant that is applied on aircraft with turbo-propeller AI-20 engines (An-12 planes, Il-18) and AI-24 (the planes An-24, An-26, An-30, An-32).

SM-4.5 is applied on aircraft that has reducers which demand the use of more viscous oils (compared with turbojets), in GTD and transmission of the traction screw of the turbo-propeller engine.
The loadings between gears in a reducer should be very high. It requires the use of high-quality aviation lubricants. A mixture of 75% oil MK-8p/MS-8p and 25% oil MS-20/MK-22, is used in certain turboprop engines.
