General
Cospas-Sarsat approved ELT operating on three frequiencies.
Transmission on 406MHz frequiency (Cospas-Sarsat) of a message allowing the aircraft in distress to be positioned an identified.
Transmission on 121.5 and 243MHz for a quick homing of the rescue team.
Usually used as an automatic and fixed equipment activated on crash by a G-switch insensitive to EMI or remotely controlled from the cockpit.
The transmitter can be unleashed from the bracket to be used as a survival equipment. This convertibility is appreciated in small aircraft and helicopters.
