Designed specifically for use in medium to light twin engine aircraft of turbo jet, turbo prop, or piston engine design
Detects, locates, and presents any enroute weather associated with thunderstorms and high density rainfall in four color format
Consists of radar sensor with line-of-sight stabilized 10 or 12 inch antenna array (see table below)
System provides 190 mile (maximum) avoidance range capability with 12 inch antenna and operates on a frequency of 9345 MHz (X-band) with a nominal peak of 1 KW
System can be used, day or night, for ground mapping which permits displaying prominent topographical features in addition to primary weather mapping purpose
Indicator can be expanded to display multifunction digital data such as navigation and radio navigation information, flight log information, and several pages of checklist information
Vertical profile version available shows height of weather activity (see table below)
