PR 1440 M Class B Fuel Tank Sealant. PPG Aerospace® Sealants
FUEL TANK SEALANT STRUCTURAL TANK - CELLS HIGH TEMPERATURE FAST CURE - WITHOUT SHRINKAGE SELF LEVELING COMPOUND - WITHOUT TOLUENE A filleting compound and fast cure designed for sealing integral fuel tanks and pressurised cabins. PR 1440 M class B was developed for use over a temperature range of - 55°C to + 135°C with intermittent use to 180°C, and with outstanding resistance to aircraft fuels (aviation gasoline or jet fuel), petroleum base lubrificating oils, and to deterioration by hydraulic fluids type phosphoric ester. PR 1440 M class B is a two-part sealant, based on polysulfide liquid polymers and manganese accelerator. After mixing, it cures at room temperature, giving a strong and flexible sealant., without shrinkage, and with excellent adhesion to aluminium, titanium, stainless steel, and other metals. The mixed compound has a high thixotropy ; readily applied by extrusion or injection gun, it does not flow from vertical or overhead surfaces.
